Roberta’s Career Change Success Story – Guest Blog Post

Here’s a sneak peek guest blog post I wrote for Claire Brown. I hope you enjoy it and if you are curious to read more, just go over Claire’s Blog. Link for the full post here

Could you start by telling us a bit about yourself and your current career?

I’m Roberta Rechena. I’m Portuguese but have lived in Dublin since 2013 with my husband and my 8-year-old daughter. I have been working as a freelance graphic designer and digital marketer since the beginning of 2020. I also do branded illustrations and portraits.

Who do you help?

I help small business owners with branding and digital marketing. Most of my clients struggle with lack of strategy and consistency in their branding.

What does an average day look like for you?

I’m a morning person and like to start early. Usually, I grab a coffee and start working before 7 am. I start by writing down my to do’s for the day, responding to emails, and after, I work on client projects.

What was the catalyst that led you to explore the possibility of changing careers?

My last job was the catalyst. I didn’t like it and did not fit with the culture of the company or their values, so I reached a point where my mental health needed to be prioritised and I decided to leave.
